John Assman

John Assman is the President and CEO of Landtran Systems Inc., a third-generation family-owned transportation and logistics company. John built his career from the ground up, working across the organization as a linehaul driver, salesperson, terminal manager, and Chief Operating Officer before becoming President. That breadth of experience has shaped a leadership approach grounded in operational understanding, long-term thinking, and practical execution.

John holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Simon Fraser University and the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. In addition to guiding Landtran’s strategic direction, labour relations, and market development, he has served on the Board of Directors of Canadian Premium Sand since 2013 and supports emerging companies as an angel investor. His past industry and economic-development involvement includes the Alberta Economic Development Agency and the Alberta Motor Transport Association. John brings VentureOut direct experience in multigenerational ownership, governance, succession, operational growth, and building value that can transfer from one generation of leadership to the next.
